Águas de Portugal is the largest water company in Portugal, serving around 80% of Portuguese population. It is a state-owned group, with 6,300 million Euros of infrastructure assets. It has full cost recovery operations, which ensures financial sustainability. It has 3,173 employees and 12 operational companies. On April 9, 2019 at the Global Water Summit in London, Alexandra Serra, CEO of Águas de Portugal International, accepted the offer of membership into the Leading Utilities of the World network and received a 'Golden Tap' award, recognising the achievement of the highest level of utility service.
