Águas do Porto provides services to 156,920 clients, following an innovative management model: the integrated management of the urban water cycle. Besides supplying water with excellent quality, with a good level of non-revenue water and low energy consumption, and the operation of two WWTPs with tertiary treatment, Águas do Porto is also responsible for the drainage of storm water and the management of river and coastal water bodies, within the scope of the European water legislation. A key factor in the implementation of this strategy is the building of a Technological Platform (H2Porto) that corresponds to an integrated system of monitoring, decision-making, warning and public information, in real time, of the different networks of the urban water cycle. On November 4, 2019, at the Amsterdam International Water Week, Frederico Fernandes, CEO of Águas do Porto, accepted the prestigious invitation for membership into the Leading Utilities of the World network and received a 'Golden Tap' award for utility performance, representing the achievement of the highest level of utility service.
