About
Alexandria Renew Enterprises was founded in 1952 by Alexandria City Council. It provides wastewater services for 320,000 people in Alexandria City, and to parts of Fairfax County by separate agreement. These services include cleaning over 13 billion gallons (49.2 million m3) of water annually; up to 54 million gallons (204,000 m3) each day. On October 25, 2018 at the American Water Summit in Philadelphia, Karen Pallansch, CEO of the Alexandria Renew Enterprises, accepted the offer of membership into the Leading Utilities of the World network and received a 'Golden Tap' award, recognising the achievement of the highest level of utility service.
