Anglian Water is the largest water and water recycling company in England and Wales in terms of service area, providing service to more than 6 million customers across the East of England and Hartlepool, and employing 4,462 people. Anglian Water supplies more than one billion litres of water to their customers every day. In the five years to 2020, Anglian Water will have invested over £5 billion (€5.6bn or $6.9 bn) building and maintaining assets, with £830 million (€930m or $1.1bn) spent in the last year. For every £100 million they invest, around 2,000 jobs are created or secured across the company and supply chain. On April 16, 2018 at the Global Water Summit 2018 in Paris, Jean Spencer, Executive Director of Anglian Water, accepted the offer for membership into the Leading Utilities of the World network and received a 'Golden Tap' award for utility performance, representing the achievement of the highest level of utility service.
