Drainage Services Department (DSD), the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSARG) of the People's Republic of China, provide world-class stormwater and wastewater services to a population of 7.5 million people. There are 2,000 employees at DSD, a network of over 4,700 km, and 360 facilities. The DSD stormwater system can cope with extreme rainfall of up to 150mm per hour, whereas their wastewater treatment capacity is 1 billion m³ per year. On February 11, 2021 at the first Leading Utilities of the World Online Inauguration, Director Alice Pang, accepted the offer for membership into the Leading Utilities of the World network and received a 'Golden Tap' award for utility performance, representing the achievement of the highest level of utility service.
