About
Esval is one of Chile’s leading water and wastewater utilities, providing drinking water and sanitation services to more than 2.1 million people across the Valparaíso Region. Operating an extensive network of water production systems and wastewater treatment facilities, the utility plays a vital role in delivering reliable services in one of the country’s most water-stressed zones.
Esval is recognised for its commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and water security—demonstrated by issuing Chile’s first private sector blue bond to fund resilient infrastructure. To combat a 15-year megadrought, the utility has spearheaded advanced digitalisation, energy efficiency, and a landmark 2026 alliance to integrate desalinated seawater directly into the regional drinking water network.
On 19th May 2026, at the Global Water Summit in Madrid, Esval was inaugurated into the Leading Utilities of the World network, where it was represented by CEO José Luis Murillo.
