Georgian Water and Power (GWP) is the primary water utility serving Tbilisi and surrounding areas, delivering high-quality drinking water to over 510,000 customers, including residential, commercial, and public sector users. The company manages a complex network of over 4,100 kilometers of pipelines, sourcing water primarily from the Aragvi River basin and the Zhinvali Reservoir. To enhance efficiency and sustainability, GWP is implementing a 25-year master plan to modernize its infrastructure, aiming to renew over half of its network and reduce water losses. With a workforce exceeding 3,000 employees, GWP is committed to reliable service delivery and continuous improvement in water supply management. On 13th May 2025 at the Global Water Summit in Paris, CEO Jose Miguel Santos accepted the offer of membership into the Leading Utilities of the World network and received a Golden Tap award, recognising the achievement of the highest level of utility service.
