About
Great Lakes Water Authority was established in 2014, and currently provides water supply for 3.8 million customers, and sewage treatment services for 2.8 million customers in southeast Michigan. Treatment capacity for water and wastewater system is approximately 1,720 million gallons per day. Water system includes 5 treatment plants, and wastewater system is the largest single-site wastewater facility in the USA. On November 13, 2019, at the American Water Summit in Houston, Sue F. McCormick, CEO of Great Lakes Water Authority, accepted the prestigious invitation for membership into the Leading Utilities of the World network and received a 'Golden Tap' award for utility performance, representing the achievement of the highest level of utility service.
