xWater Supplies Department (WSD), HKSARG, encompasses 17 impounding reservoirs, 196 pumping stations, 228 service reservoirs, 6,800 fresh water pipelines and 1,700 salt water pipelines. 4,400 employees of WSD serve population of over 7.4 million. On July 10, 2018 at the Singapore International Water Week 2017, Deputy Director Chau Sai Wai, accepted the prestigious invitation for membership into the Leading Utilities of the World network and received a 'Golden Tap' award for utility performance, representing the achievement of the highest level of utility service.
