AGV (Amstel, Gooi en Vecht Water Authority) is a regional public water authority responsible for wastewater treatment and regional water management across one of the Netherlands’ most densely populated regions, including Amsterdam. Serving 1.4 million residents across 21 municipalities, the organization manages an extensive network of 12 wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, canals, dykes, and waterways to protect communities from flooding while maintaining strict water quality standards.

Recognised internationally for its expertise in integrated water management, the independent authority is a leader in climate adaptation and digital innovation. Its pioneering work has advanced its wastewater operations to become completely energy-positive, using wind, solar, and aquathermal energy while extracting valuable nutrients like struvite from recovered waste.

On 17 June 2026, at Singapore International Water Week, AGV was inaugurated into the Leading Utilities of the World network, where it was represented by Executive Board Member Sander Mager.
