Yarra Valley Water is the third largest water utility in Australia, serving 2 million people in Melbourne with a rapidly growing population. It is state government owned, and independently regulated water utility. It has 700 employees, all of which aim to provide exemplary water and sanitation services that contribute to the health and wellbeing of current and future generations. On April 9, 2019 at the Global Water Summit in London, Pat McCafferty, Managing Director of Yarra Valley Water, accepted the offer of membership into the Leading Utilities of the World network and received a 'Golden Tap' award, recognising the achievement of the highest level of utility service.
